Why Mike Shanahan Will Turn the Redskins Organization Back to a Championship Level Team

(Left- Kyle Shanahan, Right- Mike Shanahan)

For those of you who are Redskin fans- it has now been 18 seasons since you guys won the Superbowl. Joe Gibbs retired the next season, and the rest of the 90's was history. In 2002, he came back to Washington, and we all thought he was the answer to your problems. After 4 years, 2 winning seasons, 1 playoff win, and no first place finishes, he retired. Some think that Shanahan will follow suit by disappointing everyone. One reason is because no coach in NFL history has won a Superbowl with two separate teams. Others think no one can succeed under Dan Snyder. I think Shanahan will become the first coach to win Superbowls with separate teams.
Here are my reasons why:
1. Albert Haynesworth- you can build a team around this guy- he is a NFL Superstar.
2. For eight years in a row the Washington Redskins have set the record for attendance. This past season alone they generated $345 million as there stadium holds over 91,000 people.
3. Mike Shanahan's son Kyle Shanahan, has followed his father and is now the Offensive Coordinator for the Redskins. He was previously the Coordinator for the Texans, where he coordinated a very successful and dynamic offense.
4. The Redskins are the second richest team in the NFL behind the Cowboys- they are worth 1.5 billion dollars. If the Yankees could do it, then maybe they can too.
5. The most important factor is Dan Snyder, the owner- He has done a great job of marketing the team, boosting revenue and etc, but for this team to succeed, he will have to give Shanahan and company their space.

Anyways, this team has the money, has the support, and now a coach- so it should be very interesting to watch this club develop within the next couple years.
